Transport:
- On foot - easy and moderate walks throughout the tour
- Canoe - there is a full day of canoeing down the stream on the Lower Zambezi River. An experienced river guide will accompany you
- Game drives - for game viewing activities an open 4WD is used
- Safari truck - custom built safari truck with 12 forward facing seats. This offers comfortable seating and is good for game viewing, with large sliding windows and viewing hatches
Participation:Please note that this is a participation safari, from putting up your tent to helping with meal preparation and cleaning up. Food:All meals are provided for except 5 dinners and 2 lunches, where the tour will try out local restaurants and fresh local products (own expense). The tour leader will do the shopping and meal planning and meals will roughly consist of: Breakfast - cereals or coffee and toast and the occasional fried breakfast, Lunch - cheese, cold meats, salads on bread or rolls, Dinner - braais (local barbeque), potjies (stew) and stir fries etc. Special dietary requirements (vegetarian/allergies) are catered for. All beverages will be at your own expense. Difficulty:Anyone who is generally active and in good health should enjoy this trip. This is a long distance safari with many areas being covered, which means long traveling days. Local conditions, border crossing, road detours and weather might prolong the journey, but have an open mind and remember that this is Africa and it’s all part of the adventure. Things you should know:
- This trip includes all National Park entrance fees, canoeing in the Lower Zambezi and a trip out to Benguerra Island
- You will need a valid passport and visas for entry into Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique and South Africa. Please remember that these should be arranged prior to your trip as is cannot always be obtained by the border
- Clients will only be able to exchange travellers cheques in Livingstone, Lilongwe, Blantyre and Vilanculos. All major credit cards are accepted in most cities.
