Days 9 & 10: Northern MalawiYou continue a short way further along the northern part of the lake, close to the Livingstonia Mountains where you will continue your relaxation for the next two days. Take a stroll through the nearby craft market and make friends with the friendly people of Malawi or take a hike into the mountains if the weather is favorable. Optional Activities: A wide variety of craft shopping, hiking and more… Overnight in camp. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Day 11: Iringa, TanzaniaToday you make the border crossing out of Malawi. Leaving the lake behind you, you head for your first night in Tanzania and gain an hour as you cross into the East African time zone. As you climb out of the Great Rift Valley through some spectacular mountain passes, you pass the vast tea plantations in the highlands to your camp outside Iringa. Overnight in camp. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Day 12: Dar es SalaamYour route takes you on a transit through Mikumi National Park to the historical port city of Dar es Salaam. You will travel through an area called Baobab Valley, before reaching your destination. Living up to its reputation, Baobab Valley is a valley populated by baobabs. One of the great symbols of Africa is, in fact, the baobab tree, with its bizarre appearance, surrounded by myth and folklore, and with a multitude of uses for the local people & wildlife. Overnight in camp. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Days 13, 14 & 15: ZanzibarA transfer by ferry takes you to Zanzibar where you will spend the next few days exploring this fascinating island with its renowned architecture, beautiful beaches and colourful people and history. The excursion is at your own expense and this can vary depending on your preferred level of accommodation and activities.
